Honestly, a college course in program design or logic wouldn't hurt. Programming with different languages all follows the same basic design process, and it helps to know that before you learn languages themselves.

If you are really interested in programming. Then start from Visual Basic. It is a basic level programming language for beginner. The "Master Visual Basic" is the best book to start.

if you can make your Question clear, you can get it. i mean what type of Programing Language guide are you looking for as there are different languages like JAVA, PHP, .NET, SAP etc..

You can just start with w3school. HTML XHTML CSS JavaScript XML XSL ASP SQL ADO it will help you a lot as a user guide.
