Paypal Banned me for No reason and now I never use them
I only used paypal once, about 3 years ago for one of my music projects. I didn't do much with the account, but then about a year ago I decided to start using my paypal Seller account for selling my new product. When I went into my paypal account, I realized it was deactivated. I tried sending them an e-mail... no response after 5 days. I then called their customer service number and talked to one of their CS reps after waiting about 20 minutes. She advised me that I had broken TOS and there was nothing I could do to get my e-mail or my bank account activated again. I asked her what I could do and she told me that I could try talking to the higher up reps. I talked to them, they told me that there was nothing I could do. I asked why this happened, and they said I broke TOS... I informed them that i had not used my account in some time and that I never broke any of the TOS rules. They said, the only thing I could do was write the processing department and ask them what TOS I broke. They replied after a couple of days and told me that I had been using it for porn. I never used paypal accounts for porn... I've never sold anything closely related to porn! I told them this and they said that there was nothing I could do since I do not have proof it was not me. They would not give me any more information, any dates... anything so that I could trace back what happened. I am sure it was some fraud, or someone hacking my account, but they would not listen to me.
I was then stuck having to go find another service provider. This is a great example of horrible customer service and rules that do not allow innocent customers to regain their status. They do not trust their own customers. I am fine using Google checkout, and I will never use Paypal again, I don't even feel like opening a new bank account and going through the whole process of trying to use them. It's true that they are one of the biggest payment processors, but that's no excuse for exercising dictator-like rules over their accounts.
I've also heard over the years other stories of paypal holding funds without explaining anything to their clients, etc. etc... use this thread to post your paypal stories and let's bring this injustice to an end! Show these bastards that it's the customers that rule the market, not the dictatorship called paypal. Boycott Paypal!
