Adsense - image or text ads?

After running a good amount of testing I have found that text ads make me a lot more money than image ads.

Yesterday the Adsense newsletter said that we should be selecting "both text and image ads" for maximum profit. The idea is that there are more people competing for your click.

I'm going to give it a try and compare to what I had before, but I just wondered if anyone had any feedback for me.

I do much better on text ads. But if it is a well done ad that gets a lot of attention those do well for me as well.

Text ads are paid better, but I get more clicks if I use both text and image ads.

Well it depends on your site mostly, but from my own perspective I think a mix of both would be better to provide variety for your audience.
