PPC advertising can be very effective if you can work on getting your costs per click down and your income per unique up.

Therefore if you can get your site making on average $0.20 per unique, then spending $0.10 per click on Adwords would make you 100% profit.

But a lot of people find this hard, but still use Adwords as they aim to get returning visitors from it and also to spread their sites url/name to increase their product awareness/branding.

theres is a mass of PPC related training material available online, you'll need to sign up to the Google Advertising professionals programme first though which is free.. my advice if you really want to learn is to work through the training material

Most of the advertisers actually like PPC because of its simplicity, they have good control over their advertising campaign and receive good feedbacks on its performance also.

Depends on your site. If your selling a product, it may be lucrative, assuming your website looks professional. But I tried arbitrage many times and found it to be impossible (I've heard others have done it, but I wasn't able to).

In my experiences, it is OK for non targeted sites (sites that don't promote a specific product or service). If your site promotes products (like a review site), then you would do better with affiliate programs.

@saracriss i am agree with you to some extent, but may be you have tried you plane which was not well managed, regarding to you keword bidding, placing them, and you landing page.. if these all thing are we managed than you can get outstanding traffic...it is better for instant traffic and conversion.

Thinking outside the box is my instinct, but it applies well to most successful paid search marketers. You have to think of new ways to do things, and have the initiative to set those plans in motion, monitor them, and react to the results.

I tried for about 1 month and there are some results but ,personally, I don't believe is worth the effort and money.
