Default Service tax?

If you are from India, what service tax you have to pay or you have to pay service tax if you are earning from any affiliate programs like CB, CJ or other. DO we have to pay for service tax?

Service Tax is a form of indirect tax imposed on specified services called "taxable services". Service tax cannot be levied on any service which is not included in the list of taxable services. Over the past few years, service tax been expanded to cover new services. The objective behind levying service tax is to reduce the degree of intensity of taxation on manufacturing and trade without forcing the government to compromise on the revenue needs. The intention of the government is to gradually increase the list of taxable services until most services fall within the scope of service tax. For the purpose of levying service tax, the value of any taxable service should be the gross amount charged by the service provider for the service rendered by him.

There is no SERVICE TAX applicable as of today on Adsense earnings in India. I will post more in day or two with authentic source which i know but not able to find. It was cleared on Dec 13 when review batch of Service Tax judged that ADWORDS is liable for service tax to Google where as Adsense is not to its publisher. As far as i recall google asked for review of service tax applicable on which of its services and a batch of reviewer representing govt of india made decision against them i.e. adwords is liable for service tax.

Service Tax is a tax which is payable on specified services provided by the service provider. Just like the Excise duty which is payable on goods which are manufactured, similarly service tax is payable on services provided.
