Default Is it necessary to sign a contract with a foreign writer?

I'm planning to hire a writer from a foreign country to write some articles for my website. I want to make sure he does not resell the content to anyone else. Is an email agreement sufficient or do I have to fax him a contract on paper, and have him sign it and fax it back?

Please help.

It is better to sign the contract when you are doing some online business.
