Default Is it worth upgrading to CS3?

I have Photoshop CS2 and I'm quite happy with it, actually very happy. But would it be worth my while (and my money) to upgrade to CS 3 or should I wait for the next Photoshop to be launched?

I don't think it's that big of a difference between the two. It has some new features, but in my opinion I wouldn't spend my money for it. I haven't even upgraded to CS2 yet (though I've used it, I just don't own it), I'm still using 7.0 and am very happy with it...it gets the job done.

If you're low on cash (like me ) I wouldn't invest in it just yet. But that's just my opinion.

I dont think you should upgrade yet wait for the prices to go down and wait for more people to get it, because right now it is very expensive even to just upgrade, but just wait and hear what other people have to say on the costly program
i have CS2 and i am very happy with it, it is a very powerfuly and user friendly
program

If you where using Photoshop 7 then I would suggest you get and upgrade. Because you are behind 4 versions. While you are using CS2, and the latest version is CS3, Then I suggest you save your money for the next, next, next version of photoshop.

That is very correct but if your
just using it for little things than little things in the newer ver.
dont really seen that big of a deal its all
in his opinion and how he feels about PS7 and
if it does the job that he needs well then good for
him for sticking to a reliable outdated program

I personally think that CS2 is sufficient.
It gets everything that needs to be done, done.
So what, CS3 has a few new features? Pish posh. That doesn't really matter. They're going to make you pay loads for a few new features you don't actually need. Just so you can say, "Hey, I have the newest and best Photoshop program! huh!"

Really now..

if you use a mac with g4 or g5 and you want upgrade to CS3 you work better with a actuall mac ... the invest is higher then the worth of the new features ...

only if you work a lot with 3D & videos it is ok to upgrade...

same like the macs is with the intel based computers, special with vista :/

but buy better a actuall mac. on that you can really work with all ram you can and want install ... on windows it is always like in the past ... you get fried ...

I guess it really depends on what you use the program for. If it's just basic things, like cropping or resizing or something like that then no but if you're working in layers, filters, use the tools a lot.. then of course! I'd recommend so.
