Default Directory Submission for SEO

I would like to show you a very good way that you can get good rankings in Google relatively quickly. One of the key things to getting good rankings with a search engine like Google is that you need a lot of quality links pointing to your website.

So let us look at what the definition of a high quality link is. This basically is a link from a web site that has a lot of authority. For example it could be because the web site offers a large amount of useful information. So in the eyes of the search engine is that it is a trustworthy web site. A really good example of this is Wikipedia. Other examples are forums, directories and newspapers.

I am going to show you a way that you can get a good page rank relatively quickly. Getting quality links to your web site is a very tedious process. You can start off by submitting to quality directories. This does cost money, but will save time.

Here are my list of good quality directories that you can submit to:

Yahoo

Goguides

JoeAnt

Open Directory

MassiveLinks

Skaffe

Starting Point

Uncover The Net

Gimpsy

Best Of The Web

Unfortunately you will not get a lot of traffic from the directory itself, but you will benefit from the high page rank of the directories that will boost your search engine rankings. Just remember to include your targeted keywords in the description of your web site as search engines place a lot of emphasis on this anchor text to rank well.

Another very important thing that you need to do is that you need to ensure that you optimize the content of your web site for long tail keywords.

If you are after Page Rank - I suggest you focus more on relevant blog postings to "dofollow" blogs with high PR. Most directories (quality ones) uses "nofollow" - meaning no PR juice is transferred to your site.

Submitting to directories help in your SERP. Just be sure to submit to quality ones (those with higher PR's) and place your site in the most apt category for better results. Avoid those that require reciprocal links.

Your page rank has no relationship with actual rankings of your website.

The most important thing in SEO is SERP's i.e Search Engine Rankings. PR algorithm is not related to actual SEO Ranking algorithm.

I firmly believe SERP'S are based more on traffic garnered by a website relating to a search phrase made in Google. If the website related to the keyphrase and has a good amount of traffic for that particular search term only them will it feature in the front page of Google when the search is conducted. For that to happen relevancy should be high.Content that is fresh and original and appealing is a must.
High title relevancy is also necessary.Relating well to your keywords is also important.A good SEO score ensures good SERP'S.
Links are important but more in the sense of pagerank in stead of SERPS. What is really important is the page where your link is placed. If the page isn't indexed or cached it is insignificant.Your link should be placed in a page that has traffic and is cached by the Google spiders only then when people visit that particular page there lies all probabilities of visitors re-directing to your website.

I did not mention that SERP has a relationship with PR. I was suggesting to look at the PR of the directories that you will submit to and that directory inclusions help in SERP.

Now I think we both know that is not true. Infact, if you look at the list the man has just provided, all of the directories that he has suggested are both quality, and have their links followed.
