Well, even though both Google and Yahoo are search engines, Google offers more products to online users. People are more aware of its updates, and when they are offering a new product that website owners can use to further help their sites, than the rest, in my opinion. Yahoo is more on news like the latest celebrity buzz and world news. But when it comes to how they operate as a search engine, most websites follow Google's guidelines in search engine optimisation as it has become the most popular search engine all over the world.

The difference between Google and Yahoo??? You know they are the same things, but at the same time they are different as the Earth and Mars.

First, Google is updated faster than Yahoo. Second, Google focus on semantic analysis and links, while Yahoo enphasis on title and header tags H1, H2, H3.

I mostly prefer to go through Google. Google provide a good search engine algorithm. It also give you a good result on searching over web network.
