Cool How To Get Your Website Recognized By Google.

There has been countless discussions by people regarding this particular topic, yet the problem hasn't faded away. The concept isn't still clear to all.So I just felt to put in three simple steps that would help out the newbies with their websites.

Here are the points.

1)First, make sure that your web site mentions the phrases you would reasonably expect an interested party to search for, as regular text in your HTML, not as a picture of text.

2) Second, make sure that the major search engines know about your site. As of this writing, Google is by far the most important. You can add your site to Google using their Add URL page.

3) Ask the webmasters of related web pages and sites to link to your pages, and encourage your readers to link to your site. This will bring people in directly, and it will also allow search engines like Google to find you.

When you submit to DMOZ it will take months or years before you get approved for listing. How can you hasten things up?

There is not really many ways unless you want to become a Dmoz editor and then that is not that easy these days. I believe some people are even paying the current editors these days just so that they can approve their sites asap.

Paying the editors? Is that legal? Is that allowed or do they have to do that under the table?

It's not allowed really, but it is being done as it's mentioned in one or two other forums and there is listings on some freelance sites asking for editors to add their sites for a fee.

I completely agree.I tried submitting my website to DMOZ since the last couple of years and yet the submission hasn't been reviewed. The tip they sent me was that it would be wise if you signed up as an editor. But that sign up would be again reviewed by an already existing editor and that would again take up weeks.Really harassing.

This is what we get from a very popular Google It's so hard to get a place for not-so-popular sites.

I think part of the confusion is due to the title of this thread, "How To Get Your Website Recognized By Google." - What does that mean?

Do you mean, trying to get a new site into Google for the first time?
-or-
Are you trying to improve the ranking of your site that's already in Google?

Two very different questions with multiple solutions.

To be honest, its got to the point where it is worth it. If anyone knows a DMOZ editor, I don't even want to pay them to add me, I'd be willing to pay them for their time to properly consider my site!!
(seriously - anyone a dmoz editor out there?)

As shruchi said, be sure to submit a sitemap. Also make sure to enrich your page with the keywords you want to use and work on getting some backlinks to your page to increase your search engine ranking.

I could be wrong, but I've heard that editors are in charge of specific sections, as in, 1 handling finance, 1 handling cars, ect. Now, where it is possible for them to edit any category they want, the editor in charge of that category will be wondering why an the other editor added that specific link.

To make matters worse, the editor of your section is probably a competitor so it's going to have to be really worth his while to list you.

The easiest way to get your site noticed by Google is to post in a blog that is relevant to your businesss with something worthwhile to say. The blog then pings the search engines and they come to the blog and see your link then it is only a case of 48 hours and you should show up in Google

Disagree with you ,image can be read by SE as long as you provide ALT TAG to your image.

Default Seo

I think what you are trying to say is how to optimize your rank in Google not how the Google could recognize your site.

SEO is by far the quickest and cheapest of getting recognition in Google. Unless your site is search engine friendly it won’t be able to compete online.
