Well the question is, are people really on these social bookmarking sites to actually do social things or just post there own nonsense to get a backlink. I do believe in social networking sites...but social bookmarking sites..not really for traffic anyway.

It is easily possible to use social bookmarking to network, as they both go hand in hand. An example would be let us assume that you use twitter and get followers to your network, you can do the same with dig and other social network websites by bookmarking.
