Why Google likes blogs?

Many of examples to prove this that Google give more importance to the blogs so my question is that why Google likes blogs?

Search Engine Love Blogs, the reason is Blogs are regularly updated and google like to crawl fresh content, so blogs perform much better in the search engine.

Google likes all forms of websites which are getting regularly updated with fresh contents plus materials and since blogs are mostly among these serious of portals so they are liked by the Google portal. Of course even if your site is a normal HTML or CSS made one and you add quality contents to that after a while Google would be visiting your site frequently too.
