Addaminsane, you guessed wrong. This forum has moderators. If it didn't then there would be a lot of spam rather than a small bit of spam that we have here and there.

What is Google Dance?
Google Dance is nothing but a term used to show major index update by Google search engine. The Reason webmasters and Search Engine Optimizers were interested in dance is to know keyword positions on Google in future by checking the other Google servers as they use to be updated before the main server google.com.

Approximately once a month, Google update their index by recalculating the Pageranks of each of the web pages that they have crawled. The period during the update is known as the Google dance. It appears that, still, there has to be an update of the complete index once in a while and during this time new diffident links are shown. But, because of the continuous update, the effects on search results seem to be rather insignificant.

Changes in SERPs caused due to an update of the Google database or algorithm. The cause of great angst and consternation for webmasters who slip in the SERPs. Or, the period of time during a Google index update when different data centers have different data is ternmed as google dance. its generally for a short period of time only.

Once a month, and totally unannounced, Google has a major shift in its rankings. This is when Google "tweaks" is algorithm, and when it updates each sites Page Rank and Back Links. During month there will be small changes in rankings. But only about once per month does Google Dance, updating back links and PageRank. The dance generally lasts about 3-5 days. During these days Google Results will differ widely.

Google Dance is out-dated slang term used to describe period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period.

Google Dance would happen anywhere up to 36 times per year, however in 2003 Google begun updating its index on a weekly basis, which all but eliminated the Google Dance. It is out-dated slang term used to describe period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period.
