How to get Stable Ranking?

I am working on one site which has 35 keywords. Out of 35 keywords some are ranking on 1st page of google. But how to maintain these keywords ranking stable as well as how to promote other keywords.
If one keyword is on top through the forum posting then shall I replace the same keywords with the new keyword which are not ranked?

According to me if you maintain your keyword ranking than you want to do quality work for your site. Get quality backlinks from authorities sites. Do off page optimization techniques in ethical way.

I am using unique content in article submission but still my articles are rejected by the high PR article submission site, what and how I start the posting, with that my content will approve please let me know
