Site behavior after acquiring backlinks

Hello,

I am wondering if any of you guys noticed the same behavior as I did.

Domain age: two years
Fairily established blog, usually top 6 for a medium competition query, google showing 37,500,000 results.

After building even a small number of backlinks at once (even one), my site sometimes drops from 1st page (once it dropped from top 10 pages) for maybe a couple of weeks, coming back usually at the same position.

What anyone noticed this kind of behavior? It's quite recent....

P.S. 1 When my index page was maybe out of serps, the blog posts were still indexed and ranking.

P.S. 2 By building backlinks I mean white hat.. I do not buy, trade, do link exchanges, etc.

I don't know why this happening. But I assume that it should because of quality of content of your blog. I would like to suggest you check your isn't penalized by Google. If it is than you should have to work hard to remove copied content.

It happends when suddenly Google gets a lot of links so you can say it a Google Dance when you are building the links for a website.

This phenomenon is Google dance in which Google updates its data and rankings.

This could also happen when the number of new links pointing at your website or its pages have been very high because even trends in link building could be an issue sometimes. Lack of contents on sites too could be among issues because when new links are gained, there should be valuable materials on sites also which would be considered as the major forces behind getting improved ranks online as links plus contents would be both needed.

You have mentioned that after temporary drops, and doing nothing for a while, your ranks will return back at their original and previous positions, this could be the explanation that your links have been doing good and you do not need to worry about possible problems. I believe your niche is very competitive and there are many domains competing in it, give it some time because older links will gradually help your website.
