Google's Transition to SMO From SEO?

I've read numerous updates about Google and what they have been up to, in terms of focus and benefits for webmasters. From what I can gather, Google seems to be favoring the SMO side of the web, rather than the SEO, both on and off site.
Has anybody else seen this trend or experienced this slight change?

Social media optimization (SMO) is directly related to internet user but Search engine optimization (SEO) don't related to user but search engine concept is related to Internet user and offers better services for user that way social media optimization is more favoring as compered to search engine optimization.
