Default The dreaded Google sandbox

Is it actually possible to get out of the dreaded Google sandbox once your site is banned, or are you better served just transferring your site to another domain name and starting over. I see people that use blackhat SEO tactics all the time and keep a bunch of .info domains just for this exact purpose. I have to admit blackhat SEO does intrigue me, and I wonder if the money you make for the short time you are on top of Google's listings is worth it.

I might be wrong but getting out of the sandbox and being banned are two different issues.

Being banned is you are gone forever for whatever reason.
Being in the sandbox is usually temporary - albeit it can be for a long time but temporary nonetheless.

In any case, to comment on your question, I wondered, too, about the BH techniques. They must work short term if people are using them. But what happens long term? If google is tracking everyone's business and they know what people are doing, couldn't they long term just ban all sites from the same person or company?

You know, when I thought about it some more I did mix it up. The sandbox is where their site starts out before it is indexed, etc., and getting banned is just that, getting banned. Getting banned is the subject I was going for.

As for the question of banning all sites from one company, I guess if Google wanted to they could ban all sites from a certain IP, but that would be easy enough to get around for someone with experience.

So for the banning issue, I think you are right. That IS why people are using the .info right now. They are so cheap that it doesn't matter if it gets banned.

I am glad you started this thread because I wonder about BH myself. The 2 things that worry me the most about trying BH are

1. the server logs
2. once the site is banned - what happens to the good site

So for the server logs, I asked a BH company what the referrer would show - the BH site or the search engine
- they claim the search engine bc the IP is cloaked

So if that is true, what is stopping someone from reporting your good site. That is usually how the site gets banned in the first place. The competition sees the BH site high in the rankings and reports it. If the site is redirected to your real website, why can't they just report your good website as well.

Hopefully someone who understands this more will come along with some answers.

If you are BANNED, then you are seriously in trouble. Don't try and rebuild your reputation, get out and start again.
If you are just pushed into the suplimentary index you can work a little and get out...
