Bounce rate is defined as percentage of visitors that arrive at your website and then leave without visiting any other pages.
Higher the bounce rate means that your website wasn’t impressive enough to explore it more. Few reasons of visitors leaving your website without exploring it further.
-Broken navigation links
-Irrelevant content
-popups
You can analyze your Bounce rate with the help of Google analytics.
Event tracking (Google Analytics feature)allows you to track events (pdf download,link to video) on your website .
-Set up tracking on your site refer tracking sites
-Call the _trackEvent() method in the source code of a page object, widget, or video.
_trackEvent(category, action, opt_label, opt_value).

Include this code and google will register the event under category ,action and attributes , will increase the credibility of your post and site .

Bounce rate term mostly refers to the % (percentage) at which visitors go away your pages as soon as they land on them.

Bounce Rate Formula

Rb = Tv/Tc
Where
Rb = Bounce Rate
Tv =Total number of visitors viewing one page only
Tc = Total entries to page

Default bounce rate

It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.
how to calculate Bounce rate:

Rb = (Tv / Te)
where
Rb = Bounce rate
Tv = Total number of visitors viewing one page only
Te = Total entries to page.

A visitor may bounce by:

1. Clicking on a link to a page on a different web site
2. Closing an open window or tab
3. Typing a new URL .
4. Clicking the "Back" button to leave the site
5. Session timeout

If a user spend time on your website less than 10 seconds then this would be counted in a bounce category.

The time user spend on your site or page is called bounce rate if it increases that means it is simply giving message to Google that your site have nothing for user's interest and it will effect on your pr and traffic.
