Google Ad Words Ppc Question Help?

If index page is replaced with new images and copy on url that is running a google ad words ppc, will this affect impressions?

We have had a google ad words account for years, last night we replaced landing page index page with new copy and images.

We have noticed today that impression volume is way down, why?

We do not understand the site we put back we used for years on google ad words?
