I assume, you are trying to ask more about backlinks. Google based the ranking of pages on link Popularity and for that quality backlinks are needed. If your website link is on high PR quality websites such as quality forums, high PR article directories, edu blogs, your website will be ranked high. Quality backlink is considered to be a life blood of Google ranking. The more you will inject in, the better it will get.
