Default Two Very Interesting Niches

Hi all,

I'm new here, and cannot post links yet, so pardon the spammy-looking spaces.

Other forum members and I have just spent a lot of time developing some incredible forum features for the US Gamers (dot) net site (www . forum . usgamers . net). Now, it's time to actively market these items. Both features are completely unique concepts. They took several months of coding and don't exist (at least in this capacity) anywhere else on the web from what I've seen.

USG Cash Arcade (www . forum . usgamers . net/arcade . php) - By using a modified version of the ibrpo arcade system and a forum currency (USG$ - www . forum . usgamers . net/showthread . php?t=229) similar to the one at NamePros.com, we have put together an arcade that offers real money jackpots on a daily and monthly basis. Games cost 1 USG$ (around 2 cents) each to play and the jackpots pay for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place on predetermined dates. It's a very cool system that would be more than amazing with a better user base.

Online Werewolf (Mafia) Games (www . forum . usgamers . net/forumdisplay . php?f=52) - That's the signup/discussion forum for Werewolf games. There's a subforum where the actual games are played. This is the internet's first ever FULLY automated, forum integrated Werewolf Game System. It just came out of beta stage and is ready to roll.

I honestly have no clue where to promote these two forum features. It's different than just building a forum and/or community. We done the standard forum-building/SEO stuff (paid posting, directory submissions, networking with other forums, etc.) but this is different.

What can be done to specifically market these two items for their niche audience?

Thanks in advance,
OH

While reading this, it did look like a spammy post until I got to the end. lol

Anyway, if it's features that you have on the forum, the best way to advertising/promote it would be on your forum as a new feature. If you do not have many members on your forum, then you may need to build up your members and posts so that your forums become active.

There are many ways of building up your members and posts, many forums tend to recruit paid posters to get things going. Also, if you have a good member base, then you could send out an email to the whole of your members mentioning the new features that you have.

Hi AS,

Thanks for the quick reply.

The arcade is listed as a big ad banner on every page of the forum. Werewolf, not yet.

Paid posting was done for the first 700 or so posts and we currently 230 members and around 3800 total posts.

This has also been done (a very good one I might add) and there hasn't been much of a response.

We also award USG$ for every thread/post and tried running weekly Freeroll tournaments for the Arcade. The first week's freeroll got off, the next 3 weeks didn't. Plus, there is a 5 USG$ bonus for signing up and a 10 USG$ bonus for each referral. We can't even give the money away.

Contests, promotions, etc. are great, but if people don't know about them, what good are they. The key question is...how do you tell the world about what you offer?

Have you looked into doing a press release as this is a new feature on your website and a press release may get the word out there a little more.

No I haven't. That sounds like a good idea though.

How would I go about doing that?

You would write a press release and then normally submit it to press release sites like PRweb.com. Some are free to submit to whereas others charge a fee. Some are also much better than others and give your press release much more exposure.

If your not sure how to write a press release then you could look for freelancers that do this sort of thing.
