Default which is beneficial? - Graphic or text links........

Here is small article that we have published. We hope its useful. All your comments are appreciated :-)

It is important that your website has text links that contain targeted keywords. Search engines not only follow links but they also analyze the text within them.

As for graphic links there is not any text associated with them. As a result crawlers do not treat them the same way as good, keyword-rich text links.

Imagine you participate in a link exchange with other websites and sometimes have an option between a graphic link and text link.

So if I base my choice of reciprocal links on the statement mention above - then my preference will be only text links because graphic links are just links while having text links can be rewarded more.

regards
Jerry

I totally agree that targetted text links provide more weight than graphics. I even think people tend to click on them more because it seems like it is part of the context of the article or page.

But I also think graphics have merit in their own right. I think if you use a graphic with text underneath with a link on both, it can be helpful because some people are more visual oriented when they read.

Lastly, I think graphics come in nicely when your product needs to be seen to be appreciated. Graphics can be effective in getting people to your site.

Advertising with Graphics is definately more Advanced and customer is attracted towards it.
What you can say in an Image only (Gif files), it will take you a whole paragraph to quote.
I am an Executive Affiliate and I prefer Advanced Graphics

I think that for graphics to work well they have to relevant to your site and to be striking, by that I mean interesting and well thought out not the punch in the face that you see in many sites. The human is a visual creature so an interesting graphic will draw people into your site.
I agree with Wesley, that it won't hurt to put a line of text underneath, that also has a link.

Thumbs up Re: which is beneficial? - Graphic or text links........

Hi Jerry,

Yes, Its fact... "The human is a visual creature so an interesting graphic will draw people into your site"

There is always better results, if you use Graphics.
For example, if you see a poster or banner you can remember it for a long period rather than a text read on web-page.
