Ideas to promote competition

I need some sound advice about running competitions and give-away’s through websites. Some days ago, a manufacturer gave me an offer. He said he would give away prizes to my users in lieu of a review on my blog. He wants to run it as a competition. I need suggestions about the same. How do I go about this competition? And how to I entice people to enter the competition? I want maximum entries. What do you think of the idea of building a referral system? Anyone who refers this would get a prize. Sounds cool, doesn’t it?

Well, in order to have this type of competition to give away, you will have to market your product. May be you can start a campaign with Google adwords Or Facebook ads and direct them to your site. This is a best way to get a instant traffic. About the competition, you may have a IQ questionare in which people will have to answer few questions and if they would answer all of them, they would get a price.
