Online users are most likely to develop faith on social networking sites when these sites take enough

measures to protect the interests of the site users. Just recently twitter has alerted its users of password

snacthing and as a result asked its users to change the passwords. protecting online users interests should

be of high on priority and this is the best way to promote websites.

All websites needs a good security measures, hackers & phishers are everywhere. Also, you need to protect your content too, if Google seen a duplication on it, your rankings will get lower.

I also agreed with respectful members that facebook and twitter are most efficient and powertool for promotion of your site. I also suggest intelligent strategy using web 2.0 properties like knol and squido etc along with top social bookmarking sites like digg for successful and result oriented promotion of your site.
