As you told bookmark helps in creating backlinks. But I want to know how bookmark work in search engine like Google, Yahoo, and MSN? When I post any link to bookmarking sites I get no result. I dont do social bookmarking because most of them are nofollowed and even if they are still dofollowed for now, it is because they are not a yet establkished social bookmarking site.
They will eventually get Nofollowed with time and all your links turns next to worthless.

It is not different both are being done for SEO.Both are need to be dofollow to be profitable.
