Tag Cloud ?

Hey guys,

Just a quick question...Do tag clouds help or hurt (SEO) putting on a blog?

I've never used them, not sure if it even makes a different.

who says that tag cloud would hurt your site? actually it doesn't have any connection between SEO, search engines doesn't rely much on tag clouds on search because it can easily be faked, or add irrelevant tags..

but if your blog will look good with tag cloud then I guess putting it wont hurt, as it makes it easier for your audience to navigate on your site.

Tag clouds help the website visitors to find keyword (tag) related news and stories. My personal opinion is that tag clouds are really useful and you'd better have them on your blog.

Tag clouds seem to be a good idea, they link to parts of your site with a keyword in the anchor text.

of course it is useful, tag cloud could increase the number of your sites,make search engines indexed your site well.

Fully agree with you, as they really help, as my experience tells me, and I don't see any negative points here that my hurt the site some way

I agree as well. Tag cloud is one way to easily view keyword related post and stories and I haven't heard any bad or negative effects.

One thing...Tag Cloud are good to get indexed in Search engines. But as these tag clouds appears on home page of your blog so you should make them no-follow. Otherwise they will take away all your link juice. If you are using WP then there is a plugin to do this thing.

I believe tag clouds are advisable since they are dynamic and good for SEO.Many of the well known sites have tag cloud.It also helps visitors.At least it will make them stick for a while.

You better should as it is very important for a website.Atleast add it to the footer.

I believe tag is helping your site to collect more site indexing, put tag in your site and see the increase of your link reference.

I just recently started seeing tag clouds and wondered what the value was for the end user/site visitor. I didn't even realize they were clickable links. I assumed it was an SEO tool for the webmaster and it made even less sense why I was seeing them. Happy to hear about the intended value that it brings to a site.

I really love that cummulus tag cloud plugin for wordpress - maybe not the most practical, but most definately coolest tag cloud out there

Tag cloud is just one way to easily view keyword related post and stories. The most keyword used might be the most viewed. And I haven't heard any cons about tag cloud.

They won't hurt SEO in any way bt 'am afraid ,if they would do any good either .

It is very difficult to say that tag cloud plays a vital role to boost the traffic. But in my views tab cloud should be used.
