Can anyone tell me the best types of links to build for my site.

Not only links that will help my SERP but also links that will get traffic to my site from the links themselves?

Link building is the trump card in SEO.

Link Exchange is a sound strategy.Make sure your links placed in good position. Make sure link to the related, high quality, high PR web site. Pay attentioon not to link with "bad neighbours"

Also , please remember: link building is not just about numbers.Less links but more power ones should be your aim

Try Digg dot com and Hubs pages. They are picked up by major search engines every minute or so. You can have success almost as fast as you can type. Really, it's crazy fast listing depending upon the keyword phrases you use. Your accustom to links, however merely submit to these sites and it serves as a link to your site.

i agree for the suggestion of the others that digg are one of the faster,and also social bookmarking!!!research in the internet you can learn and you gained idea through internet!!!

.edu, .net and .org links are powerful than simple .com links, if you get these links for your website than you can get high ranking in search engine and no what you will getting traffic automatically which is in general called Natural Traffic

to get fast back links try dofollow commets and forum posting and social bookmarking sites are best... also article submission is good..

Make sure the link to your site is relevant, high qulaity and consistent. Better if they are the achor text link.

You have got your answer right there in your question -)

But to break it down, links have different values for you, we have the traffic generator, sends alot of traffic, but lets make sure its traffic we want, people say digg etc is great, but imo it doesnt convert, and most of the SB's are the same, non convertors. Quick in and out traffic, makes you feel warm looking at your analytics but doesnt do much for your pocket (unless your selling ads based on numbers of course -)

We have the juice giver: High PR site, dofollow links which are gonna flow you alot of juice, these are great for SEO, but llets make sure we have our keywords in the links and ideally in the titles of the links also, and lets try to get them from related sites, do not underestimate the related sites concept.

We have a mixture, the traffic and pr all in one, now if you manage to get a link from a high traffic high PR site which is related to yours, then bish bash boosh I think we cracked it, this is the holy grail of links. It gives u good juice, it gives u a jump in serps and it sends you targetted traffic, of the right kind, but these are hard to come by!!! To say the least. Do what you can to get them though.

Best method to build backlinks is to try to be getting one's backlinks from higher PR sites with the right anchor texts.
This can be done by:
Blogh commenting,
Forum signatuures,
article submission,
social bookmarking and etcetera.

The best types of links to build (imo) will be from high quality, related sites. Ideally they'll be one-way links, but not necessarily

Its really very good and important factor when think about to get the backlinks. These links should be of good PR, do-follow then only beneficial to rise website rank.
