Hi,
First check in Google if you can find any good competitors for this so you can get ideas from that sources.
start with adsense and get the ideas about Google Adwords.
Thanks

How To Get Traffic To Your Software Or Any Product....
I recommend that you do a few things in the following order:
1) Make sure you have to right keywords for your software, by "right" I mean.. not only must the words be relevant, but they need to have a healthy amount of monthly search volume in the major search engines (If it is good on Google, it may be good on the others). It is good to have long tail keywords too.
2) Check the competition volume for your keywords, and then look at the ads that show up for those words. Try to use Google's keyword tool to measure the competition for the words and cost per click.
3) If you dont want to pay for traffic and want it organically, I would recommend social bookmarking. Get accounts with as many of the top 50 listed at socialmarker.com and use that for fast SEO. Create a blog about your software and bookmark it.
4) Create a Squidoo lens, Facebook & Twitter page. Bookmark them.
5) Create some articles about your software. Submit them to article directories such as Ehow.com and others. DO Not submit the exact article to multiple directories. You must create different versions of the same content so the Search Engine spiders don’t cite you for spreading duplicate content.
6) Keep in mind that each time you do bookmarking, you have to include "tags". Those tags are the keywords you wish to be found for.
I have personally experienced floods of traffic to affiliate links and personally made pages using these methods. They are time consuming, but well worth it in the end. Any questions, shoot me an email. Also, I have training videos that teach you how to make money with Twitter. It is totally free, no strings attached. It can get you off to a great start.

The most important things here are advertisement, real targets, and good knowledge of possible competitors affairs

With due respect, I can sincerely say yahoo is better for selling things. I have never made much money with google because of them being so aloof and particular. Yahoo has a different crowd. People there are more into buying as apposed to being geeky. There's nothing wrong with being geeky, but not when I'm selling stuff to you. By all means do a Yahoo or MSN PPC campaign, if you have a little change to you use.

Try to search for "Internet Marketing" in Google and read about some of the basics first. You need to understand how internet marketing works before you can step on the hot water or you'll end up burning or drowning yourself.
Good Luck!
