Is press release really helpful???
Hi everybody,
I m launching my new website and thinking to have a press release. But I
am not sure whether it will help me  Please share your experience
with press release and also tell what are the best websites to have a press release??? |

What I undertand about press release is more of a news release. How about writing a good article whose niche is related to your website? Submit this to hight traffic sites which accept articles with your website link in tow.

i think that it depends on your niche and website genre. if you are offering high quality products or services .. i m sure it is more helpfull than if you are offering a celebrity fan site.

I had a professional write a press release for the launch of one of my new websites. The person was experienced in offline press releases so she submitted to all relevant newspapers and publications.
She also released it to specific magazines in my niche. I was pleasantly surprised. The launch was great.

Press releases are good and if you manage to get one publish off line then the rewards are quite good. Do check out PRweb, they are supposed to be quite good at this.

it might help, it might not, i feel some sites are better off advertising online, like in google adsense etc, like others said above it depends on the particular niche you are targeting your website in.

Hi,
I visited PRweb, but I dont know which package I should take??? , especially keeping in mind I want an economical press release. So tell me which package I should go for -$180, $120 or $200

Yes it does help.
I've seen a case recently a guy that released press releases to 10 websites, and did nothing but that - he got 18k unique visitors to his website in 7 days!
So it depends on how you do it, and if you do it right.

Yes press release is really helpful because you will get alot of uniques and publicity everyday, people will discuss about your website because of press and you will also get peoples ads offer for a high amount of money.

If you have a highly changable niche, ie news/celebs/gaming etc i think you should at least try a press release and the information is ever changing and people always want to know the latest news on topics such as these so it would be a success... in theory  |

One thing to be careful with press release is that you must be 'prepared' to welcome your visitors.You can have a great press release and get a lot of visitors only to see them leave the sites after five seconds.

Press release does help in bring in traffic. There are a lot of press release websites that publishes PR. I tried PR and it did help me a lot.
But in order to submit a press release, you must have the correct format so it will be approved.

Press releases are a great way to advertise your company/website (s). You can submit your press releases directly to magazines or blogs. Also, an easy way to get your press releases picked up is to submit them using PRweb, PRnews wire, Business NewsWire, erelease.
This is a good start.

It works at a certain extent of drawing traffic to your site. But no SEO value though.

My personal experience proves that press releases are one of the most effective ways to generate traffic to your site. If written well, they can be very effective. Over 90 percent of press releases are sent out by the companies or sites trying to generate traffic or publicity.
