Default Link Cloaking?

I have been learning this Affiliate marking for over a month now and I put in many, many hours. I have placed hundreds of adds. I recently came across something called sneakyaffiliate and it tells how to steal affiliate commissions. My question is that I need to know for certain how to better protect my links. Also do you know if this actually happens and if you know the best way to hide my affiliate link without buying a domain.

Thank You,

Good Question,

(1)you can do easily like You could of course use tinyurl.com or some other free URL redirect, however people always prefer a .com or co.uk domain ending,

(2)second thing is tools available for download at Leenkz.Com.

Membership is required, so if you want it for free so it'll not help you, but if you dont mind the one time $10.00 member fee, lots of downloads are available.

(3) freelinkcloaker.com/

requires domain name, or just create a subdomain)

If you're using wordpress theres a few free addons for it like WP-Affiliate.

I hope, you will get ideas if you are still looking for the help.

Thanks
Paul

I would recommend buying a domain name, they are cheap and you can get free hosting or really cheap hosting somewhere.

tinyurl or other services are OK, but my biggest fear is that if they suspend your account they then take over your links and you are out all the hard work you did and you can't do anything about it.

I would buy a good link management software. Try Manage Affiliate Links Anyhow, it protects your links against link thieves and cloaks your links. The best feature is that it will redirect dead, expired, or broken links to a backup link that you choose. Very handy if you run lots of campaigns.

They also have a version where you don't need a domain or website, you use their site with their software but I think its by invitation only. Try emailing them if you are interested.

I think there would be a tradeoff here, if you talk about cloaking affiliate links. I have been doing that, to ensure that the links look like abc.com and not referrer=something?something.aspx

The problem I noticed though is that the clicks aren't tracked correctly as I use a php url redirect.

Definition of link cloaking
Cloaking Websites
Cloaking describes the technique of serving a different page to a search engine spider than what a human visitor sees. It’s lucrative due to its ability to manipulate those elusive top-ranking results from spider search engines. This technique is abused by webmasters for keyword stuffing.Webmaster can create attractive page decked out with flash, images, navigation tricks, easy use features concerning about the search engine suitability. mproves Your Conversion Rates Drastically And Lets You Make Money From Visitors That Don't Even Click Your Affiliate Links!

Affiliate Link CloakerWhat is an Affiliate Link Cloaker? If you're in affiliate marketing, you're probably aware of a big problem: commission hijacking. People just replace the ID in your affiliate links with their own, take your commission and leave you with your promotion efforts. Especially Clickbank affiliates know how simple it is to cheat their hoplink system.

Let's face it: many people hate the idea of someone making a commission from their purchase. It's a fact. Wouldn't it be great if you could promote a product or service without using an affiliate link at all? What about your squeeze pages: would you like to get credited even if your visitor hits the back button and never clicks a link?
Stop Commission Theft: Hide Your Affiliate Links With Covert Affiliate Pro

Within two minutes you can download this affiliate link cloaking tool and implement some real slick promotion techniques. This is not just another tool that creates a lame redirect or uses worn-out iframes that alert the new browsers anti-phishing filters or embedded links that won't work with Firefox.
Here's What An Affiliate Link Cloaker Does For You:

* Stops your commissions from being stolen by people who just want to get a discount on the product.

* Lets you use unintrusive articles and reviews that won't suspect your visitors of being sold to a product or service.

* Redirects your visitors to every page you like: write your own sales copy and send your visitor directly to the merchant's order page!

* Lets you promote several products on a single landing page and get credited without using affiliate links!

As you can see, Covert Affiliate Pro helps you to get a nice advantage over affiliates who don't use it.
