What I really like about article marketing is not so much about backlinks. I am more interested in getting my articles rank high on google's for targetted niche traffic. Since most have a reasonably good pagerank and are able to index the article within days of submission, it sometimes makes me think why should I need my own website for.... other than to sell.

Had some a couple months back when I was promoting a foreclosure company offering consultation services. But it died down pretty quick from the day Ive submitted my articles. I imagine that you are referring to Cost Per Acquisition (CPA)?
