Knowledge is power
Marketing research helps you understand your competitive position, spot opportunities, lessen risks and take better decisions. It is more than just market research, which is concerned only with examining aspects of a given market, such as its size, location or growth potential.
Marketing research can give you indications, but it cannot give you answers. What it can do is allow you to make marketing decisions based on the best, most up-to-date information available.
Thanks

As per the Wikipedia, Marketing research is a form of business research and is generally divided into two categories: consumer market research and business-to-business (B2B) market research, which was previously known as industrial marketing research. Consumer marketing research studies the buying habits of individual people while business-to-business marketing research investigates the markets for products sold by one business to another.

Thanks for sharing your views. Market research is an important exercise before starting a new business, but the results vary at large because of the ways it is conducted. So, be careful.

Of course, knowledge is the base to do everything. Learn, try, fail, learn, implement, learn, success, maybe that's the process of doing everything

Can we define knowledge today as information and the ability to make full use of it?

I am sure lots of us already knew this information. But still, there are many people who don't apply the marketing research correctly.
By the way, the 2nd paragraph is the best: " Marketing research can give you indications, but it cannot give you answers"

Yes, thats what successful marketing is. Test via research and more Test continually because the atmosphere certainly changes.
By the way, I like the way you sneak your signature in there. I find it pathetic how Moderators think they must restrict signatures links ( like that's gonna do somethin'." Please, if there was anything offensive, it can be always deleted. Restricting signatures is like birth control pills.
Thanks

Hi All
Great post, not so sure if it is outdated info?1 Some info is evergreen and i would say the same goes for this thread. Some very important truths in it.
Still today all succesful businesses apply good market research, before deciding on a creating/releasing a new product in the marketplace!
Thanks
