Default Marketing Via Myspace

Has anyone tried marketing via Myspace? I know this trend was popular a few months ago until Myspace was cracking down on "spammers"

There are many ways to market your product on this social network
- Create a profile of your business and gather up some friends
- Send out bulletin posts with news about your business (people mainly buy these bulletins from other people who send them out to thousands of friends)
- Post comments on user profiles (must be done discreetly or else it would be obvious that it's spam)

Although this doesn't work for many businesses that are not youth-oriented, but I was just wondering if others have heard about this? Or even tried it?

I made a profile that has about 500 friends to try and see if it works and Ive only sent one bulletin but the traffic that brought wasn't much.

It is still a workable idea, but make sure you don't post any type of affiliate links in your bulletins or your page will get deleted with a quickness. I know that is one of the methods Myspace is using to crack down on spammers. 500 friends is definitely not going to bring you much traffic...you would need in the neighborhood of 10,000 or more to get any type of decent response, and even then many people have given up on Myspace due to all of the webcam *****s spam.

Interesting, I'll have to check into this. I never thought about myspace for my site because I thought I was out of the age bracket of most myspace users.

Yes i heard this too, apparently myspace was going to take spammers to court. But that would be only those who are doing it on a mass level. It is only successful if your friends have the same and suitable demographics to your ads.

Before we go into marketing campaign thru various avenues like social networking sites, we must ensure that we have a good product or service to sell. This is because if we have satisfied even just a few, we can expect our customer based to snowball thru these few satistied clients.

with myspace you can still get good traffic (but its getting harder and harder because of the spam and abuse)

there are many friend-adders and auto-poster-software out there. also some free ones.

all you have to do, is to find and (ab)use it.

Never tried it, but IMO it can surely be a success since Myspace has a HUGE amount of traffic and users, you could use it to your advantage. you could even buy large lists of friends to boost up your page.

I thought myspace was dead now with all the new social sites out. Im hearng alot about this new facebook but havent looked into it as of yet.

But yea if you was to be successful with myspace you need a hell of alot of friends in the region of xx,xxx to get anywhere.

Its worth a test to see if it works, you will never know unless you try for yourself

I think this technique works, I have a profile up for about a year and gotten plenty of traffic from it. It's worth a try.

If it is not abused, Myspace is a good advertising tool. This is effective if social network groups are targetted. In the first place, how it can be effective if your networks are all composed of kids.

Myspace is a very good place for advertising like exculiber said, if it isnt abuses
and it is quite easy to gain "friends" on myspace and get your site
or product out to people

I think it's only really a good idea if you've got a business or something people want. There's no point advertising age retirement places to teenagers.

I created several profiles for each of our affiliate program. I noticed however that most friend invites came from suspicious people. When you do some 'checking' we noticed that these people earned more visitors than us. Although I'm not yet sure how they did it but that was the result of our checking.

Send a message via MSN to LinkPopularity
it's an option, but it very time consuming, so you first need to ask if MySpace is your targeted market

it's not the best way

better to stick to SEO
