popsicklestrip DOT com is my website and I can't figure out how to get the ads to the top of the page.. I think that might be why nobody is clicking them.

Try using the Google Website Optimizer to do some A/B testing and see which section of your site is best for ad placement/conversion.

Regardless of not being able to see any ads on your site, your question is a good one. If people are not clicking on your ads, then grab some other creative from that advertiser or try another advertiser all together. Testing will allow you to understand which banners work, size, graphics, etc... and also allow you to understand which types of products and services your visitors seek. You can rotate different offers and then see what gives you the best click-through %.

Totally agree. But before testing out your ads you must have not only have the traffic volume to justify findings but also RELEVANT content that is tightly connected with the ads on your site. No point serving up something far from what they are expecting.

Try switching up the ads or using a clickheat program to see where your users are clicking.

This clickheat program you mentioned seems to be very interesting. A brief explanation perhaps? Any good resource links you can provide?

Clickheat is an opensource project (free) and can be found at labsmedia.com/clickheat/index.html. Easy to download and setup.
Basically, you add some javascript to your footer and then login to clickheat admin panel and find out where your users are clicking. Its kinda like a heat map showing where the user clicks.
Its pretty neat neat and will help you better understand your site. For example, a lot of users could be clicking help link, this tells you that there is a problem on your site and your users are having trouble. Or you could see that the user is clicking on the banner.
I hope this helps.

Neat! I thought it was only available exclusively within google's testing labs. Silly me. Now this is what I call research! Thanks for the info mate!

Is Adsense Any Good
Hi,
I use Google adsense on my websites and have found that the 300x250 medium rectangle works well.
I have placed them at the top.
I used to have a 460x68 banner before deciding to experiment. Glad I did! My adsense revune more than doubled.

You can try to do some improvement by tailoring landing pages to each keyword and ad that you run. Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised in the ad copy.

I have actually recently been using Facebook ads and the click throughs for this week alone have been well over 200 and I am doing a small daily budget. Content is king. You must make sure that your information makes sense and it clear and easy. I am by the way looking for internet marketing companies and affiliates to add their information to my upcoming ebook. Send me an e-mail if you would like more information.
