Default time spent on social media

Social Media Marketing is a factor of relationship marketing. It is designed to develop strong connections with customers by providing them with information directly suited to their needs and interests and by promoting open communication.

There are so many different social media such as: Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. Through this you can be connected to different people; friends, colleagues, bosses, university friends, business men, teachers.

Social media are great for setting up a relationship but never will replace face to face interactions which let you to build a stronger relationship with more confident.

Currently, Social Networks are getting a great deal of attraction in order to increase the visitors to each website created.

Social media could take 20 hours a week or more while to other to allocate one hour a day is enough once you get your presence set up. Some spend hours a day on social media, but that doesn’t mean they’re effective. Others spend 15 or 20 minutes a day and are reaping the rewards

But it depends on a variety of factors and also it will depend from needs to each company for instance if you are looking to connect with a more for professional crowd, Linkedin is the way to go. By participating in discussions and interacting with such people related with this media.

Facebook: It is helpful to create a fan page because people will spend time with friends, colleagues and contacting new people. But today Facebook is also used to promote products by providing some valuable information to the users.

Twitter: it is perfect for monitoring tweets that are relevant to your products or services, and is more open than Facebook, in that you can contact others much more easily, without worrying about too many privacy constraints.

Bookmarking: people are using social book marking sites such as: digg, reddit etc to find the information so submit your link to these sites and try to get generate maximum votes.

Finally video marketing with sites like Youtube, Google videos, Vimeo, etc are the best sites to promote videos so create a video related to your product and publish in these site. You can grow your Channel and increase your subscriber base.

I'm also in need of getting high traffic for my site. It is said on your post that the time spent in social media should depend on the needs of your site, and I agree on that. I come up on using social media instead of pure link building to gain more positive effect on my site. I think it’s a nice thing to do.

IMO, It is better to spend 20 mins time twice on social media per day. Depending upon the target area tweet stories on peak time.

Think of social media as a networking event. You’ll never get to talk to everyone, but you can talk to a few people and really get to know them. At the end of the day, it’s still about building a relationship with other people.

It's up to you and how effective you think your time is and if you are checking where your sales are coming from. I think it is all about time management and sticking to a plan until you find something better.

I certainly wouldn't spend more than 3 or 4 hours a week in total on social networking. I am not a fan of Facebook but do spend the time that I allocate evenly amongst the others.

Mal.
