Default Digg

I always encounter websites owner to digg their site content. What does that exactly mean and how are you are going to digg it? Does it help in promoting your site traffic or site PR?

if your article ends up on the first page of the Digg.com website then you can get a ridiculous amount of traffic in a short period of time. From there it is up to you to provide content to keep the surfers coming back. I've never played with Digg or Del.icio.us or the other one's yet, but I will when I feel I have enough content.

Digg sure is useful. Never underestimate the power of social bookmarks. I've seen some serious traffic from stumble upon and some not so serious from digg but i highly suggest those.

Yes, digg is definitely a serious traffic-fetcher

"What does that exactly mean and how are you are going to digg it?"

Log on to digg.com and you'll find out. It's a social bookmarking site where users can "digg" sites/articles they find useful and "bury" the ones they don't

My experience with digg is that i simply use them to get indexed ALOT quicker, i rarely had any traffic from digg but that just might be my content thats garbage. One of my sites did well with stumble upon though and i didnt even know it existed until i started getting traffic cropping up from there

digg.com had helped me get a lot of traffic. it brings in mass of people. ultimately traffic to your site is what matters and hence its rilly useful. there are a lot more..i mean the social bookmarks.

If you have a genuine good site that you think users would love, then social bookmarking can set you off to a very good start.

Me personally havent had any success with them but i get lazy with adding new content on sites and SEO - thats why i have gone to affiliate marketing to test that out and have a break from crappy link building

So you just submit your articles? That's it? Sounds too easy.

Also beware if you have an article that does get dugg and makes it to the front page, if you dont have a good enough server the amount of traffic digg drives will takedown your site via the digg effect

Digg has become a great way to get traffic because these sites are promoted by surfers ...although there are some people who are paying to get their sites to the top of the list.

Don't worry, you or anyone else here is not stupid.

Digg.com is a news site where all of the news is contributed by their members. If people find a great news story/article, then they add it to digg. People then vote for each story/article they think is interesting and deserves a vote. The more votes a story/article gets the higher the story/article is likely to get ranked and eventually if it gets alot of votes in a short period of time then it may even get onto the homepage. If it does hit the homepage then the site that the news story/article is published on will have a massive increase in traffic.

What if you commission a group to digg for you? Is this something acceptable? I'm thinking the possibility that a group can intentionally vote for your story/article.

Digg.com is just one of the best social networking sites where you put your quality articles and give a summary and a title, it links to your website's article pages. There would be lots of people coming to your site to read your article if its good. If people digg your site, article's rank goes up and more people come. It is great for dragging traffic to your website and some benefits in link building too.
