Hi James,

Digg it, Stumble it, submit your blog to blog directories, FeedBurner, etc.
This will significantly increase the number of visitors, though I can't guarantee that you will get 2000 uniques a day. To track your visitors you may want to install a counter like the one provided by statcounter.com.

Submit to directories, participate in other blogs, forums, social networking - more and more backlinks. This will eventually help in your SEO.

a free way to track how many visitors you are receiving is google analytics. it is free code that they will supply and updates every evening at midnight

Yes, Google analytics is a worth thing. But apart from it, if you want to view live stats, you can install a free stats counter. I believe the one provided by statcounter.com is the best and the most accurate.

Regards,

Having a live counter on a site is an option. But iIt would depend if the OP wants his visitors to see how many have already visited his site. Personally, I think its not a good idea to do so especially if the site is just new and traffic is really scarse.

Hi,

I absolutely agree with you. You can solve this problem either by setting a size of an image of any counter to 1x1px, or you can choose an invisible counter option at statcounter.com

Cheers!

Nice information, never though of this before. Allthough, not often I would use such a thing, but nice to know.

I use Google Analytics for the most part, it gives me the information I need. Not often I need stas on a real-time basis.
