Default How many sites do you own/run?

I'm wondering how many sites people here own, or at least run. I've made a poll which I hope appears correctly for us to vote on. Let the voting begin!

I have 4 sites. I did once have 27 sites, but decided that 27 was to many. I only really had 27 sites just to see if it making money could be easier with more sites or less sites. I found that having less sites is the best way to go for me, but this is not the situation with everyone. If you have one site then you are putting all your eggs into one basket. If you have to many sites then you cannot update them all that well and your visitors will realise this and stop returning to your site plus it takes time to keep advertising all of these sites. If you have a few sites, say about 2 - 6 then you have more time to work on them, learn about your visitors, tweak your ads, etc.

I currently own 7 sites, but I only really maintain 2 of them. There's just way too much work to fit inbetween college and the social life that goes along with it.

I have 6 sites right now and I already feel stretched out, my main forum which also happens to be a resource site, demands a lot of work on a daily basis.

I have three sites. Two are portal sites with one is science site and another one is gaming site. Both are using phpfusion as CMS. Third site is free advertising forum using PHPBB. I don't plan to launch another as management will again increase.

I have one rite now, but I'm just starting out. Eventually, I'd like to run about 5 sites. Also, I'd like to get into my own hosting.

I do agree with that statement. I currently have 5 sites, and 4 of them are blogs that I update on a daily basis. 4 blogs is just enough for me to manage to write original posts every day and keep my readers coming back. If you use an RSS feed you can automatically update a blog, but I believe original content is king.

Only a couple hundred uniques a day at the moment, although I haven't been promoting them much yet. I'm trying to get them filled up with content before i put the full court promotional pres on them. I enjoy writing so it's not a huge task for me. I have a fifth blog that I am getting ready to start working on with oddball type news, but I don't want to make the other's quality suffer by taking on too much work.

Wow, 27. Were any of those automated? if not that wouldve been hard work.

Anyways, I have three sites running and another two in the works. In fact more than two in the works but lets see if I get the time to complete all of those.

22 of them where niche product price comparison sites where they were all pulling product data from one database that had products from many different niches. I programmed a script so that it collects all of the required merchants data and replaces the urls with my affiliate urls and then dumps it into the database. This is probably an alright idea, but I just didn't have the time to do all of the promoting/advertising of the sites and there was alot of tweaking needing to be done with the script and the way the products were displayed on these sites.

After all that work I managed to get about 5 - 15 sales, but decided after a year that I would just concentrate on a few sites and close down these 22 niche product sites. I still have the product price comparison database, but instead of having the 22 individual niche sites, I just have one large price comparison site that covers most niches and is integrated into a site that also has other stuff on it.

I have 4 sites. Two of which are blog sites. One site is about high yield investment pograms and autosurfs . The fourth one is an ecommerce related site. All of these require updating to be attractive to site visitors.

I have 3 well established premium sites. The best thing is to not put all your eggs in one basket. So the more sites the better i spose. Imagine having 100 premium sites. You would be so rich.
