The main purpose of Alexa is to improve web navigation through user participation. There is more to it than ranking sites. They offer numerous other services that include data services and webmaster resources. Website owners can improve their overall online experience. In order to know about the Alexa ranking of a website, you need to have an Alexa toolbar. The majority of people prefer to install the Alexa toolbar so that they can get the desired info quickly. They don’t need to look up Alexa.com. They can get complete traffic analysis and reviews posted by the users.

This is true. However, many smaller websites won't even rank on Alexa, so you should definitely use Google Analytics on your sites.

Alexa is good but I am not focusing on it. I'm focusing on traffic/visitors as well as page rank.

compare with Alexa,
whatever, page rank always in first place, and about increase your PR
PR: the most efficient way is change backlink with related websites
Alexa: the more traffic you get, the alexa is better

Alexa Traffic Ranking is based on the actual traffic going to a Website whereas Google PR is calculated mainly by the number and quality of inbound links to a specific page and not traffic.

The ranking is done with numbers as the Website with the most traffic on the Internet (currently Yahoo) would have a traffic ranking of 1 and those with very little traffic would be in the millions.

The Alexa traffic ranking has a reputation for being inaccurate. But, generally a Website with an Alexa traffic ranking of 50,000 or less receives quite a bit of traffic.

The Alexa ranking is based off the figures they collect from those who have their toolbar installed. This is why you’ll notice many technology and Internet Marketing related sites with higher Alexa rankings. It’s another reason why it’s known to be inaccurate.

I do not trust Alexa traffic. It is inaccurate and misleading.

Alexa is useless in my opinion. It based on who installs Alexa toolbar to calculate traffic.
