Default Starting a business blog or website

Hello everyone I really need some advice here

I am strugging with that question since weeks now , i have been thinking of creating a site where i could write weekly news about my hometown business sector ( i mean economy , industry , ... )

As far as i am concerned i just see it as a leisure , being a former business man i always kept in touch with people in the business sector, and kept myself well informed about what's new. But i don't know , if i get some success i may try to turn it into something more commercial.

That's why i'm wondering , do you think it's possible to make it big from a blog ? or is it better to start straight with a website if i have commercial plans

Thanks

No matter what you want to do, it will take some time to earn from it.
In the long run, I suggest you to build a website. Of course blog can get money earlier than website, but it is a little difficult to make it big.

Remember, people buy from those they like and trust so blogging helps us in developing a relationship with our prospects.
And of course, if you write your blogs correctly, they'll get placement on the search engines relatively quickly and this will also drive traffic to your sites.

Blogging is a great way to keep in touch with your prospects. People like to see new and updated content when they are looking into an opportunity or business.

Blog is best to earn money if you are confuse in Blog or website then i suggest you Blog first. You should try firstly on Blog and work on it helping with SEO then you can promote it. After Blog you can try on you site.

i feel it is better to go with Website and this question has revolving even in my mind. I stepped into Blog and later when there is an increase in traffic, i moved to website and the process made me little bit complex. So looking into feature, Website can stand apart from Blog.

One year ago I tried to start a website for my small business, with zero experience in web design, SEO, etc. After three weeks of pain, I have understood that I am very far from my purpose, I cancelled my contract with the web host company and I started with a blog (Google Blogger). I worked around 6 months with SEO things and … success!!!- I arrived on the first page on my (small business niche).
Now I’m trying to make a more professional website. I understand things that before looked to me like an alien language and now, I am sure that the best thing is to start the first time with a website and not a blog – but is very difficult when you don’t have a background in computers.
I wish you success.

Based on the information you provided, I would say a blog is probably the best avenue for you. There are many well developed, functionally diverse blogs that are very detailed and have a huge following. The development of blogs is also easier than full site development. WordPress is a very popular option of macroblogging. Many businesses use this option instead of full sites because of its functionality and user friendliness. Not to mention, it is generally a MUCH less expensive option.
