Default What are Authorized Shares?

Authorized shares are the maximum number of shares that a company can issue. State law specifies that shares of stock in the corporation will be issued under the direction of the board of directors. But, in future, the shareholders can set, or limit, the number of shares the directors are "authorized", or allowed, to issue. A company usually authorizes a higher number of shares than required to be able to issue stock in the future.

Nice info dear...I think shares are dependent on the kind of firm that you have registered under with. Directors can allot from those shares that they got after registration. They can not increase shares as per their need (I think)

Please rectify if i am wrong!

An authorized share that is known as, in the company's bond often seriously exceeds the number of shares that is issued through a company's IPO. Authorized shares are also called authorized capital stock as well as merely authorized stock..

The maximum number of shares of stock that a company can issue. This number is specified initially in the company's charter, but it can be changed with shareholder approval. Generally a much greater number of shares are authorized than required, to give the company flexibility to issue more stock as needed. also called authorized stock or shares authorized.
