No, its a bad idea. Forum masters will ban you for this. Instead, you need to ho slowing, build credibility and promote your product only there, where the discussion of the same product is going on. Other than this,

you can social bookmark,create awareness in social communities, post classifieds etc.... All this can also boost the traffic.
