Default Outsourcing vs Staffing

Outsourcing is the new wave for fulfilling your resource requirements. Some people out there have a myth that Outsourcing is a heavy expensive for small-medium businesses which is not true - the point that is often missed is that at the end of the day you are paying for the actual product and not the human resource.

Say for example: A clothing store wants to publish its catalog online - they can either hire a software developer at $20 an hour for may be 200 hours to do the work for you , tomorrow if the developer comes back saying it will take another 100 hours - it becomes an interesting situation.

or, you can outsource the work to a software development company who will charge you a set amout for delivering the site to you - no delivery, no payment! And, Tomorrow, when it comes to maintaining the website, you don't have to take the big headache of staffing, pay rises, sick leaves, holidays, etc - just outsource the maintenance of your site to the same company and you'll probably get a special deal for outsourcing both the contracts to the same company!

Default Outsourcing

Hi

I have been working as a freelancer for a while....For sure what I can say is that outsourcing is in reality a big time and money saving for corporations. Companies do not have to provide training to employees or even pay for the day to day expenses. They can simply hire the best freelancers for the project at hand.

Plus the fact that today freelancing in not new . There are a lot of established and new web sites that allow you to auction your freelance projects and get the best price for them ... Some examples are

www dot auctionsforbusiness dot com
www dot getafreelancer dot com
www dot rentacoder dot com

And many more... So having some part of your employees in house to actually do the project management of the projects that involve freelancers is a big cost saving..

Default Re: Outsourcing vs Staffing

Our website is being managed by a outsourcing firm in India. I have admin console with me to change content though. With freelancers , there is some element of risk. I noted from my experience that a company is accountable and it can replace a faulty resource with another one immediately and also have backup. I am lucky to have found this company for sure. I also used btw templates from Pro-Resource before I started outsourcing work to this company. They offer downloads at proresource.com/judysblog/get-more-leverage-when-outsourcing. They offer one free template every week I think. I just downloaded today’s and it coincidentally is on outsourcing. Do let me know if you need any details of the VA company and will be happy to send their contacts.

For me, I would choose outsourcing. But it's all merely depends on your business, if it's a long-term run, have long-term projects, etc..

If an organization has much non- important process which are taking plenty of time, effort and resources it’s better to outsource these non-core functions, as it will lead to delivery in time.

If you require expertise for your business which is not your speciality then outsourcing is good

If you have a manufacturing company doing production, then you can opt for staffing as it is good for project.

Outsource is much better if you can actually outsource the work. Ex. A company needs someone who is good in typing. The company can just look for a person who can do the job through websites. In this way, the company can haggle the amount to be paid or minimize their costing like overhead (for computer use).

Outsourcing can be a cost effective way to increase your business. Also the employers got affected with their payments. They have to work on payroll.

I love outsourcing jobs, these were very useful and no any kind of investment need in that work. You can earn there according to your skills and the work what you have done.

Outsourcing is some kind of a trend today and a lot of people are actually benefiting from it. It connects people from every corner of the world, sharing talents, skills and services. I can tell that businesses are much gaining from outsourcing rather than staffing.

In my opinion one of the reasons to outsource HR functions to improve processes and make them more transparent to employees. The technology is generally a prerequisite for achieving this transparency. It also helps to preserve the sanctity of information between employer and employee.

Outsourcing or sub-servicing often refers to the process of contracting to a third-party..outsourcing is often viewed as involving the contracting out of a business function - commonly one previously performed in-house - to an external provider.
