Default Getting a new business started

Hey guys.

I wanted to talk to you today about getting people to sign up for a product/service for a new website.

I've looked around and am interested in spending some money on CPC to drive people to my site.

Other things i'd like to do include link in my signature on forms, getting people to post/blog about me etc and 'invite a friend' schemes.

I'm very interested in Pay Per Action (something i know google is experimenting with). Does anyone know about this and how (if) it works.

I'd gladly throw $20 per sign up to a paid account.

I'm wanting to get about 10,000 free users and 1,000 paid users to the site 2months after its public launch (that will be early next year) and wanted to know what sort of planning I should be doing and how i'd get those sort of figures (through adverts and promotions etc).

I thought i'd start getting registations of interest in october in preperation for a jan launch.

Any ideas or suggestions?

On the pay per action bit. PPA will be a difficult source of revenue compared to PPC. You need the visitors trust. Can you build that?

If yes, then you are good to go.
