Is there any importance of a sitemap as far as PR is concerned?

I am in the way of obtaining good PR for my website. My friends suggested me to use sitemaps as they are of immense help in search engine optimization. During the inclusion of the sitemap in the website I was told that there will be no direct improvement of PR. The SEO procedure points out that to make the web pages of the websites crawled, you need to instruct the spider in accordance with the circumstances. The robots are given a reference point with links to ascertain that web pages are crawled over instantly and easily. Do you support?

Sitemap is table of content of all the web pages at single page that can helping in indexing all the web pages at a time and cover more and more pages.

If indexing rate of website is increase then ranking and also quality of website improved because search engine updates become instantly that can help in PR value.

Sitemap has no impact on PR of the website. It just helps to increase the indexing rate and helps the search engine to index the inner pages and to know about the site link structure.
