Why news site earns less than tech sites

Hi,

I have a news site on Asia Pacific region and a friend of mine owns a technology site. I have seen that he earns more than what I earn. Why is it so that news site don't earn good amount. Shall I switch on in making a tech site or to put more effort in the seo of my news site. Please help.

I think that is happening because there are more news sites then tech sites.

People are coming to news site probably to read news. if the site good for news they will stay on your site many time then there would be a chance to click. Make your news site visitor friendly and update good news regularly.

That isn't actually the case since there are other factors you need to consider rather than basing on what kind of site you both run. Some sites are bound to get a reasonably goood amount of traffic than the other which may be the case for you.

In terms of earning and if let's say, you both have the same monthly traffic, it may have something to do with the advertisements you both can promote since for a tech site, there are possibilities for Amazon products promotion and the like, whereas news site may be limited on that note.

most of the technology websites are niche friendly. The focuses with topic and generated related traffic. so as their money generation is much higher than the news websites
