I think you are talking about some forums which pays their user for posting, but that does not apply to every forum and specially good forums don't pay anyone to post

Wll in order to make sales through forum threads you have to establish yourself as an authority figure and gain peoples trust. When you do this people will naturally follow links in your signature line and buy what you recommend and buy what works for you - because they trust you. It takes a while to build this trust and authority but it's worth it.

Posting a thread is actually starting a new topic for discussion. You have to make sure you are allowed to have links in your thread content before doing so. You don't want to be banned as a spammer just because you want to send people directly to your site. Try adding quality content about something you feel you are an expert on and take it from there. Eventually the word about your site will get out and what you have to offer will sound interesting to you viewers who wish to learn more from your expertise!
