Best way to get traffic

Hi. I want to know how this works before I will get involve in this. Can you please tell me which is the best option to get traffic and good PR for your website? Is it bookmarking or backlinking?

Bookmarking is a subset of backlinking. You will need to do bookmarking when backlinking.

Bookmarking is the best but if you want to find a lot of traffic you need a lot of users so, social networking is the best to find a lot of active subscribers.

I do agree that bookmarking is one of the best methods, but I'd recommend you to use the basic of SEO - it such a way you will succeed for sure. But before you get desirable traffic -you have to work really hard, because it is a very time consuming process.

Backlinking is the best. Bookmarketing realistically is getting backlinks, but a majority of them use the "NoFollow" tag, which means it doesn't have any effect on your SEO, but at least it should get you some traffic I guess for a short time.

I can tell you how to get free but slow way to create alot of traffic is by wrtting alot of keyword focus content pages and creating links to your site. You must provide content that alot of people are searching for that ads value to their search. The more clicks the higher rankings = more money. I wrote 100 pages to get 100 visits a day with over 300 backlinks. I have close to 150 pages with 600 back links for 300 visits a day. It takes time to build a business online. Keyword focus content and links should be your focus.

If you want huge traffic and at the same time increase your PR, I suggest you do a variation of a lot of backlinking tactics mentioned above. Stay away from link farms and avoid doing black hat techniques.

Both the techniques will work, as bookmarking will give you good traffic and backlinks from trusted website results traffic + PR. So try both techniques and get good result.

I apologize for the stupid question, but what do you mean by "bookmarking" ?

I thought bookmarks was what you did in your browser when you wanted to remember a web-page ?

I tried the search at the top, but "bookmarking" only returned 2 results, and they didn't exactly help ?

Edit: Doh !! I saw one mention *social* bookmarking above - and the mighty Google told me that it is sites like Delicious etc.... so I guess it is more like "shared" bookmarks then, no ? I've even *used* Delicious :-(. Sorry - didn't know the term, but do now :-) !

Like others have said, Bookmarking is a part of back link building. By bookmarking you are basically building backlinks to your blog/site. So, it is not a question of which is better, it is a question of how it should be done, what other method you could use to build backlinks and drive traffic to your blog and etc.
