For traffic try the social sites: Twitter, Facebook, etc. This will only increase your visitors not also the PR as all links on those kind of sites are no follow.

I first began using Twitter to publicize my new site posts. If you utilize Twitterfeed, this free-service will automatically put out your latest site posts to Twitter.
This was the only approach I used Twitter for the primary 9 months or so.

You have to implement various techniques:

Bookmarking
Article writing
Forum posting
etc.
