Default Some questions about google adsense.

Hey, I am new here and I had some questions about google adsense. I did tried searching online however could not really find answers.

1. Does google only pay for adds clicked or also for adds displayed?
2. Does the amount payed also depend on things like 'Alexa' ranking or is it the same for all websites?

To answer your questions in turn:

1. Google AdSense has both CPC (Cost Per Click - you're paid when people click your ads) and CPM (Cost Per Mille - you're paid for ads displayed) campaigns. You can't choose which to run, AdSense chooses through its algorithm - although the vast majority are CPC.

2. Your Alexa rank, Pagerank, and other factors do not normally determine how much you are paid for each click/display. If two websites are showing the same ad from the same campaign - ten the likelihood is tat they will be earning the same per click or per display. More popular and professional sites are, however, more likely to show high paying ads than those less popular - and as such may earn more per click or per display in general.

Also, as a side point it is worth saying that your Alexa rank really means almost nothing these days. It is very very inaccurate and quite easy to game - install the toolbar yourself and see how quickly your site rank increases for example...
